How do Ragamuffins offer funding?

Ragamuffins is open 51 weeks of the year. As funding is only applicable for term time, which is 38 weeks per year, we deliver your child’s full entitlement as “stretched” over 51 weeks instead. 15 hours/51 weeks = 11.17 hours per week and 30 hours/51 weeks = 22.35 hours per week. We do not offer term time only spaces at any of our settings.

Is there a minimum attendance policy?

Yes we have a minimum two-day per week attendance policy.

Do you offer discounted rates for families who have more than one child attending Ragamuffins?

Yes, a 5% discount is given to siblings of children attending the nursery on a full time basis.

Do you accept childcare vouchers?

Yes we do. Childcare vouchers are available to all working parents whose employers operate the scheme. The value of the vouchers is deducted from your invoice on either a weekly or monthly basis, depending on the frequency of payment.

When will my monthly invoice be due?

Payments are due by the 7th of the month in advance. You will receive an invoice around 10 days before it is due via an email notification and the Famly app. Fees are calculated monthly so can vary depending on the number of days each month.

How do payments work?

You can choose to remit via bank transfer, childcare vouchers, the tax-free childcare system or cash. Please make sure that any remittance has your Child’s name on it so that we can allocate it to your account. Our bank details are on the bottom of all invoices.

Do you charge for closure days, holidays, and sickness days?

We are closed on Bank Holidays, Christmas Eve, and for the three days between Christmas and New Year. We do not charge for these closure days.

If your child does not attend a booked session due to illness or holiday, the session is still payable. We do not swap sessions.

Your Journey

What do you ask parents to provide?

We would request you provide nappies, wipes and any special creams, ‘comforters’, bottle feeds and meals if required. In addition, all items such as bottles, cups, lunch boxes, coats should be clearly labelled, so they can be returned at the end of each day.

We undertake a lot of outdoor activities so please provide warm clothing & wellies in the autumn and winter and, on the basis we get a half decent summer, sun cream and hats for protection from the sun.

Can my child spend time at Ragamuffins prior to starting?

The app can be used to log holiday dates, sick days, absences, and to chat with a member of the team should you have any queries. Of course, we are always contactable via telephone or face-to-face should you wish to speak with us the old-fashioned way!
